Timed blank space on a Track.
A Gap renders nothing and sounds like nothing; it exists so a packed Track can hold deliberate emptiness. Without it, blank space is indistinguishable from an accidental hole, and any layout that closes holes also destroys the pauses an editor placed on purpose.
